“The Do’s, Don’ts, and Don’t Forgets,” offers a comprehensive guide for teachers, students, and parents navigating gifted education. This presentation focuses on our active K-6 self-contained gifted program.

Key subtopics include perspectives from teachers, students, parents, leaders, and administrators. We emphasize creating structured, flexible learning environments that prioritize depth and complexity in projects while avoiding common pitfalls like overextension and self-imposed limitations. Strategies are provided to encourage a growth mindset, embrace risks, and foster meaningful connections through collaboration.

Additionally, we will guide parents in understanding gifted and talented traits, supporting their children emotionally, and engaging in open-ended dialogue with all stakeholders. Drawing from our eight years of experience, we will share the do’s, don’ts, and don’t forgets of a successful self-contained gifted and talented program.
