Heather Churney, EdD, is Assistant Professor and Program Director of the School Counseling Program at Concordia University, Irvine. She has over 15 years of experience as a high school counselor in both private and public education. Her recent dissertation explored the mental health implications of twice-exceptional students identified as gifted and with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Heather regularly presents on topics of giftedness, identity development, and mental health, preparing the next generation of school counselors to serve diverse learners. She resides in Queen Creek, Arizona, with her husband and two children.
